A prolific choreographer and a dedicated guru,  Smt. Bala has a keen sense of Carnatic music, the talas and the jaathis.  Smt. Bala is motivated by her father and guru, Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam and has started teaching dance over two decades ago.  In 2009, she formally established Abhinaya Vani Nritya Niketan, a traditional Kuchipudi dance school.

Smt. Bala inherited the graceful art form of Kuchipudi in all its purity and finesse and has honed many passionate and talented dancers over the years.  Smt. Bala’s untiring efforts to retain the essence and charm of Kuchipudi reflects in the meticulous training her students undergo at Abhinaya Vani Nritya Niketan.

Smt. Bala has choreographed many pieces, in her unique style of using aspects from the Natya Sastra.  Her Mathe Varnam is one of the most authentic pieces of choreography in Kuchipudi today.

Apart from being a dedicated dance teacher for over two decades, Smt. Bala is a trained Carnatic veena artist and teacher.
